 NOSTALGIE, 2007, (selected watercolours)

Nostalgie is a series of 16 watercolours based on images from 1960s and 70s lifestyle magazines from the DDR (GDR). The series explores consumer iconography from the former German Democratic Republic, questioning the role of socio-political structures in forming personal and communal aspirations, while investigating the innate alienation inherent in societies dominated by excessive structures of command.
